Nonprofits and attendees at the 2017 North Texas G

No part of the country supports their community more than Texans, especially those here in North Texas. And now it’s time to gear up for this year’s Super Bowl of giving event coming up on September 20th. Communities Foundation of Texas’ annual North Texas Giving Day, the nation’s biggest community day of giving, is ready to kick-off. And this year we are celebrating our 10th birthday.

In nine years, North Texas Giving Day has generated $195 million for our community and broken five national giving day records. More important than the dollars raised are the lives improved—your donations feed the hungry, help the homeless, support veterans, educate children, save an animal, or so much more. With thousands of local nonprofits represented, there’s a cause that matches your passion for making North Texas stronger.

This event is all about your community. Won’t you please join us to make the 10th annual our region’s best North Texas Giving Day yet?

If you are involved with a local nonprofit - including churches and PTAs, which are eligible to participate this year - we hope your favorite organization is registered to benefit on giving day. Nonprofits have through 12 a.m. midnight on August 21 to sign up. Go here to register.

We are celebrating this milestone year with exciting new elements, like 10 days of volunteering, free public events, and giving from September 10-19. Additionally, former First Lady of the United States Laura Bushwill rally givers as our first honorary chair.

Across the 20-county region in Arlington, McKinney, Dallas, Denton, Fort Worth, Plano and more, exciting, official Donation Station events are being planned—including hands-on, family-friendly activities, concerts, cash prizes for local nonprofits and more. Event details can be found here.

When you give online at NorthTexasGivingDay.org, you will stretch your dollars further with matching funds secured by many nonprofits. Last year 373 nonprofits raised over $3.4 million in their own dedicated matching funds. Plus, donations up to $10,000 will be amplified by bonus funds and prizes.

As a reminder, you can go online beginning September 10 through the 19th as well as on Giving Day (September 20 from 6 a.m. to midnight) to the thousands of certified nonprofits listed on www.NorthTexasGivingDay.org.

I’m a firm believer that communities that give together, grow together. So, whether online or in-person, please join me in helping us set another Giving Day record by giving to the nonprofits that make our community great.

I look forward to seeing you.

Signed,

Dave Scullin, president and CEO, Communities Foundation of Texas
