Youngevity Be The Change created "My Story Matters" story books personalized for children at Wee Can Academy.
The Youngevity Be The Change Foundation recently stopped by Dallas Can Academy’s Ross Avenue campus to pay a visit to the children enrolled at the Wee Can Academy. Wee Can Academy is onsite at Dallas Can Academy and is an early childhood center for children ages six weeks to elementary school age. Over 60 children were treated to a fun surprise when the Foundation presented each child with a personalized reading book, representing their own life stories.
The Youngevity Be The Change Foundation’s primary goal is to help children overcome adversity and lift their spirits by creating a memorable, positive experience through the use of storybooks.
Youngevity volunteers of all ages and backgrounds came together to create custom story books for each child enrolled in the Ross Avenue Wee Can Academy. The storybooks, otherwise known as My Story Matters, featured the child’s own photos and offered a positive, personalized message for the child to read.
Wee Can Academy was created by Texans Can Academy to help address barriers to education for high school students, such as early parenthood. Where Texans Can Academies is signature for filling the gap in educational opportunities for the students, the Wee Can Academies go a step further and assist not only the students but their children, giving them the support to get through early childhood development stages while their parent is in school. Also open to the community, Wee Can also serves to help children who are considered homeless or reside in families that do not have immediate access to child care facilities.
The programs at the Wee Can Academies aim to assist toddlers and elementary school children in learning through play, social and academic activities.
