The holidays might be over, but that doesn't mean the DFW area stops having fun. There are dozens of entertaining events taking place throughout the metroplex, so shake those winter blues and make plans with friends. Here are some of the top museum exhibits, bridal shows, festivals, concerts, and other activities to check out during January. Happy New Year, everyone!

Journey to Space Exhibit at the Perot Museum (All Month)

Visiting the Perot is always a good idea, but this month is an especially fun time to do so. The museum is currently hosting a 10,000-square-foot, two-lab space station simulator! Children and adults of all ages can feel as though they've ventured on to an authentic spacecraft, complete with robotic arms and water rockets. A ticket to the museum gives you access to the International Space Station's Destiny module, so go ahead and plan your visit. Tickets are $19 to $28 for nonmembers and the special space exhibit runs through May.

Josh Abbott Band at Billy Bob's Texas (January 5)

This Friday, Josh Abbott and his gang will grace the stage of the world-famous honkey tonk in Fort Worth. Stop by, grab a drink, and two-step to the band's most popular hits. You can buy seated tickets or general admission tickets, depending on what kind of experience you prefer. The concert is fast approaching, so if you want to snag some tickets, do so ASAP.

The North Dallas Toy Show (January 6)

This Saturday, Farmers Branch will play host to a monthly exhibit of both new and old toys. Join in the fun and browse impressive collections of everything from action figures to comic books. Kids will get a kick out of the vast display of toys, and adults will have fun reminiscing about their childhoods as they gaze at playthings from decades ago. Admission is $2 and free for children under the age of 12. Click here to learn more about the event and plan your trip.

The Bridal Show in Las Colinas (January 7)

If you're a bride-to-be, gather up your girlfriends and head to the Irving Convention Center this weekend. You'll be able to browse everything from gorgeous wedding dresses to brand new 2018 decor trends. Plus, there are giveaways, professional wedding business booths, and a fashion show. Show up at 12:00 PM and get cracking on the plans for your perfect day. Admission is $10 for adults.

Truth: 24 frames per second Exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art (Now - January 28)

An intriguing exhibition of film and video, this cinematic event covers over six decades of work in a truthful and striking manner. It's the first time the Dallas Museum of Art has dedicated an exhibit to time-based media, and the diversity of the presentation tackles race relations, sexual identity, the media's role in society, and many other important contemporary themes.
